Rumors surrounding Assassin's Creed Unity and another mysterious Assassin's Creed game being released this fall have been confirmed in Ubisoft's financial call.
Assassin's Creed Unity will be exclusive to next-gen consoles and PCs, and it will be released this fall. Altogether, it is being developed by ten different Ubisoft studios from Canada, East Asia, and both Eastern and Western Europe. Montreal, Toronto, Singapore, Quebec, Annecy, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kiev, Montpellier and Bucharest are all contributing, most likely making it the largest game in the series' history.
The setting has also been confirmed to be taking place during the French Revolution, bringing the series to Ubisoft's home country.
More strikingly in the report, CEO Yves Guillemot also confirmed the existence of a second Assassin's Creed game being released this fall. The game will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but no title or other information have been given by Ubisoft yet.
Ubisoft is now intent on further annualizing its franchises, making Assassin's Creed the next Call of Duty, perhaps even more so with two releases a year. Is that too much Assassin's Creed for you, or do you intend to play along with the eternal battle of the Assassins and Templars every year?
