Uber has issued an update for its Android application on the Play Store. Aside from the usual slew of bug fixes, the release brings users the option to view departure times for public transport near the location they’re being dropped off. What this essentially means is that the next time customers hail a ride to their local train station, they’ll be able to monitor the time the train is departing while they’re en route.

At present, the feature, which was built in partnership with Transit, is only available in a few locations in the United States, including Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and San Diego, though compatibility is expected to make its way to more areas over the course of the next few weeks.

To install the update…

To install the update, you’ll need to open up the Play Store, swipe in from the left-hand side, select My Apps & Games, navigate into the Updates section, locate Uber, then hit the Update button. Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether the Transit integration will be baked into the iOS version of the application — but we’re guessing it will at some point in the future.
