Sharing photos and video is a huge part of Twitter—sometimes media says a lot more than 140 characters can. But the experience, viewing said photos and video, has never been very elegant on the social media platform. That's changing.

Twitter on Wednesday announced several enhancements will sweep through its website, "in particular, on profiles and in search results," David Chen, software engineer for Twitter said. Now it's much easier for people to view photos and videos on the platform (as you can see above), with a nice big image popping up instead of leading to a new page.

Additionally, videos from Vine, YouTube, Vimeo and more will appear in expanded Tweets, giving users a quicker glance at what the content actually is. It makes the experience better, and much less frustrating.
