Twitter on Monday said it's killing off support for TweetDeck apps in an obituary-style post to its website. So for anyone who relies on TweetDeck AIR, Android or iOS versions, say your goodbyes now; official support will be dropped in May, where functionality will stop entirely.

"Over the past 18 months, we've been focused on building a fast and feature-rich web application for modern browsers, and a Chrome app, which offers some unique features like notifications," the post reads. I actually just installed the Chrome app, and so far it seems pretty solid. So far.

Twitter explains that most power users are actually flocking toward the Web experience, which is why the company's other avenues are closing ship. "We think these web and Chrome apps provide the best TweetDeck experience yet, and that they are the app in which you'll want to see us add new capabilities first."
