Lucky Sort, a data visualization startup that makes bigger gobs of information more manageable, has been acquired by Twitter. According to an announcement on Lucky Sort's website, members of the team will join up with Twitter in San Francisco in the revenue engineering department. Current customers of the company will slowly be transitioned off Lucky Sort's system, Noah Pepper, CEO said.

Pepper said the company's goal was to build tools for better text analysis, and now those skills will be applied to Twitter's growing presence. Now that Twitter has added the ability to discovery tweets on a local level, perhaps the company will use Lucky Sort's knowhow to better utilize the social network both locally and around the globe.
