T-Mobile's celebrating the holidays with a special advertisement, but you'd be mistaken to think it's all about the magenta-loving brand. Instead, the Un-carrier uses this as an opportunity to call out its competitors. That shouldn't be any surprise as T-Mobile can't get enough of attack-style ads. So it's a holiday-themed ad that pokes fun at Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast.
In the Grinch-inspired video, T-Mobile CEO John Legere narrates the story of 'The Carriers Who (Almost) Stole Wireless' in the United States.
The ad will be familiar if you know Dr. Seuss' children's story. With this twist, the "greedy old carriers" are planning to steal wireless from consumers and charge them so much more money. From oh-so-mean taxes and fees to strict limitations, these carriers are filled with glee. Then the Un-carrier arrives in a sleigh and saves the day.
You might be puzzled as to why Comcast gets included, but T-Mobile will soon be battling it out with the Philadelphia-based company as well. The Un-carrier plans on rolling out a live TV streaming service in 2019. As for Verizon and AT&T, T-Mobile continues pressuring them in the race to 5G.

By the way, T-Mobile made an excellent decision choosing How the Grinch Stole Christmas as its source material. The children's story remains one of the most popular, and the Ron Howard-directed adaption is still the second highest-grossing holiday films. In 2018, The Grinch was released a computer-animated adaptation for the big screen.
