Remember last week when Titanfall's DLC mysteriously became free on the game's first anniversary, and we told you to act fast on snagging it up? Well, now you don't have to feel so rushed. Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the DLC will be available for free from here on out.

That's right. Forever! The news has been confirmed through the game's official Twitter account.

The confirmation comes alongside the announcement of a Titanfall sequel for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and whispers that CEO Vince Zampella wants to stop charging for DLC maps altogether.

"I think that's a fantastic way to do it… I think having the maps like that in packs, it does split the community and it makes it harder for matchmaking, it's messy. Yeah. I don't know we won't do it again, I can't say that for sure, but the idea would be to do something different."

Some might still doubt his intentions on the matter, but hopefully these developments from the first game should be enough of a boost in confidence on the future of the franchise.

One year later and a game's DLC goes completely free. Are we looking at a new model here?
