While Respawn Entertainment still doesn’t have anything to say about Titanfall 2, the mecha-fueled universe isn’t staying quiet.

Respawn has partnered with Nexon, and together the two companies will work together to “create several new and original smartphone and tablet games based on the expansive sci-fi universe of Titanfall.”

Nexon first partnered with Electronic Arts and Respawn to bring Titanfall‘s PC edition to Asian markets and is continuing to expand its library of titles, with plans to bring games like Boss Key Productions’ Law Breakers over.

As for these Titanfall mobile games, there’s no word on what they’ll be like. Nexon and Respawn did confirm in their press release that this is a multi-year, multi-game partnership, and that the first game will be releasing in 2016.

Respawn CEO Vince Zampella did note that one of Nexon’s strengths lies in free to play games, so we can expect that this partnership will likely be for free to play games rather than the more traditional route. Whether it’s going to be a card game, a base builder, or something else, we don’t yet know, but we’ll find out when the game hits Android and iOS next year.
