So, the creator of Titanfall and a former slot machine executive walk into a bar, right? The pairing sounds like the start of a joke, but it's far from it.

Vince Zampella, head of Respawn Entertainment, has paired with former product head of slot machine company WMS Larry Pacey to start a new mobile game company called Nuclear Division, according to a report by GamesBeat.

Shooter fans need not worry, however; Zampella isn't leaving or diminishing his job at Respawn. His role with Nuclear Division is more as an investor and adviser, he told GamesBeat. Nuclear Division will be based out of Los Angeles, near Respawn's headquarters.

Zampella and Pacey have a long standing relationship before this startup, with Pacey initially bringing Zampella into the industry. Pacey has been with WMS for the last 12 years, ending his time with the company as the Executive Vice President of Global Products and Chief Innovation Officer.

Zampella had initially considered the venture as a part of Respawn, but decided to break it off and work with Pacey.

While Nuclear Division isn't giving any details on the games its developing, it says its working on a couple games already as well as technology for others, both of which we should see sometime in 2015.
