In a bizarre move out of the the company's typically secretive business practices, Apple CEO Tim Cook suggested rather clearly that Apple will not launch any new products until the fall of this year. That means we might not even see a new iPad until September, although it's possible that the company will announce new products before that time.

"Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software and services we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014," Cook said during the company's Q2 2013 earnings call. Even the word "introduce" seems to suggest that Apple's going to stay quiet, which could be detrimental in the short term as one of its biggest competitors, Samsung, continues to flood the market with new devices.

It seems like a dangerous move, but one that Cook was confident enough to mention publicly.
