I’ll open this can of worms: I really didn’t like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I gave it another chance right before Breath of the Wild came out, and I still wasn’t a fan.
The motion controls (while great at times) felt forced, the overworld design was devoid of life and the overall game was way too backtrack-heavy.
The newest episode of “Boss Keys,” a YouTube series dedicated to examining the dungeons in The Legend of Zelda series, focuses on Skyward Sword. Let me tell you something: The video is so good that I genuinely considered giving the game yet another shot.
I do agree that the dungeons are extremely inventive and way better than what we’ve had in recent years. This video also makes me think that Boss Keys might enjoy the “dungeons” in Breath of the Wild. They all involve completely distorting the way “dungeons” move or feel.
