I miss Banjo-Kazooie. I miss the goofy characters, the terrible jokes and Grant Kirkhope’s absurdly good soundtrack. Yooka-Laylee looks like it’s going to fill those gaps nicely.

A brand new trailer dropped this week alongside the official release date announcement. We covered that, but you can dig into the video that reveals the Capital Cashino trailer below. Pay attention to the graphics, the music and the dialogue and tell me this thing doesn’t look like a new Banjo.

What about the earlier trailers? Glad you asked. Here’s the one that debuts the inclusion of Shovel Knight as a cameo. Again, that music!

And here’s the Gamescom trailer with tunes that feel straight out of Banjo.

Right, the soundtrack, I keep bringing up the soundtrack. That’s because Kirkhope and company make darn fine music, and Banjo features one of the best OSTs for a game ever. Here, listen to that and smile.

Yooka-Laylee hits the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on April 11. The Wii U version was cancelled, but Playtonic is working with Nintendo to bring the game to the Switch.
