The second episode of Telltale’s video game prequel to the Fables comic book series, The Wolf Among Us, is set to be released during the first week of February. Studio Founder Kevin Bruner made the announcement on the game’s official forums. Smoke and Mirrors “is looking really good,” as he puts it.

Ep 2 should be available the first week of February. We are working hard with all of our partners (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Apple) to coordinate everything, but we’re confident enough to announce that here. The episode is looking really good (as is the rest of the season!).

Questions have been raised about the amount of time it has taken the second episode to come out. Telltale has always delivered high quality content at a speedy pace, but as its games grow more and more complicated, the development time is sure to become longer as well. Bruner states that this won’t be happening again.

We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays). I won’t dive into the details, but it’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.

We were big fans of Telltale’s first episode, Faith, and have been eagerly awaiting the next ever since. Just can’t get enough of fairy tale characters slumming around the streets of downtown New York. Anybody else out there excited?
