If Final Fantasy XV has sent one clear image over the years of its hype, it’s that the game will be a total dude outing. Four male characters on a road trip through the countryside, talking about manly things and doing other bro activities.

However, Square Enix is open to developing DLC that might bring that crashing down, thankfully for a few missions. Speaking with JeuxVideo, Producer Haruyoshi Sawatari discussed the possibility of bringing the game’s leading female, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, into the game through a DLC pack.

If the demand is there, and he says it clearly is, the company might make more DLC beyond what they’ve already planned, hinting that her appearance is not yet set in stone.

Final Fantasy XV might star a girl!

Luna looks like an interesting character, and it will be interesting to see how impressive she can be in battle. I’m getting flashbacks of Liara joining the group in Mass Effect 2 when she teamed up with Shepard again to take down the Shadow Broker.

There are no complaints in that regard, and it will give our male leads a chance to show a different side of themselves.

However, the core theme of Final Fantasy XV is the bromance between these guys. I’m all for diversity in games and giving women more leading roles, but that doesn’t make a story that stars four leading males illegitimate, either. Storytelling has all kinds of faces, and Final Fantasy XV promises to go a bit deeper into friendship relationships than typical Gears of War bro-fests do.

Final Fantasy XV will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
