The Martian Trailer 1 - 32

The new release films still aren’t performing well, leading to the worst weekend yet this year for box office receipts.

1. The Martian

The Martian held on to the top spot at the box office in its fifth week of release as the new releases again failed to catch on. The Ridley Scott film took in $11.4M for a new domestic total of $182.8M off of its $108M budget. Globally it has hit $428.4M.

2. Goosebumps

Goosebumps held on to second place with $10.2M. It now stands at $57.1M off of its $58M budget.

3. Bridge of Spies

Steven Spielberg’s latest film, Bridge of Spies, held on to third place with $8M. Its new domestic total is $45.2M off of its $40M budget.

4. Hotel Transylvania 2

Hotel Transylvania 2 moved up to fourth place with $5.83M. Its domestic total now stands at $156M and a global total of $323.5M. It’s still outpacing the original film in the U.S., so all things point to this franchise having some life to it.

Burnt

Burnt starring Bradley Cooper opened in fifth place with just $5M off of its estimated budget of $20M.
