Shortly after Jon Favreau revealed the title and first details for The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm has done one better. StarWars.com shared the first image from the project and also unveiled a list of who will be directing some of the show's episodes.
Much of the work falls on the shoulders of Favreau, who is writing and executive producing the series. But he has a long list of talent helping him out, including Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
Those are huge names, but the one that sticks out is Waititi, who previously shot to fame when he turned Thor from serious thespian to hilarious jock. It will be fun to see what each director brings to the series.
As Favreau previously revealed, The Mandalorian will take place after Return of the Jedi and before the rise of the First Order, telling the story of a lone gunslinger. The image shared by Lucasfilm is an excellent look at a Mandalorian wearing the iconic armor made famous by Boba Fett.
As for who's under that armor, that information has yet to be revealed. Last we heard, Pedro Pascal was in discussions to play a pivotal role in the show.
The Mandalorian is headed to Disney's upcoming streaming service, which will launch in 2019.
