Another monstrous phone designed for Titans is hitting the streets, and Verizon customers will get first dibs. The LG Optimus Vu — made official back in February — is being unleashed upon the world with an unbearably old school 4:3 inch screen in tow. Set next to the Galaxy S III, the Vu is an unsightly beast with a width that can't be comfortable for one-handed use.
The device looks like it was purposely designed to go against the principles of usability. But appearances aren't everything — the Vu comes with specs to compete with the best devices on the market. Equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display, the VU also packs a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 with Adreno 220 GPU, Android 4.0, 1GB RAM, 32GB of storage, 8-megapixel rear camera (1.3-megapixel front) and the lynchpin to all things enormous: The stylus.
There's not much else to go on; The device is coming to Verizon, and it'll run on the carrier's LTE network. As far as price or availability is concerned, AndroidPolice's source wouldn't say. Usually when these pre-launch devices pop up in the wild — and pass through the FCC — they can't be far off from an official announcement.
