Whew, I thought we were going to miss out this year! Only five days to go until the start of E3, and there hasn’t been a rumor regarding The Last Guardian anywhere in sight! Not anymore, though. The Guardian has gone ahead and planted the seed to make this the eighth year running in which The Last Guardian was rumored to show up but ultimately didn’t.

The source at The Guardian, which it labels as a “good authority,” says that the long lost vaporware title will, in fact, finally be present at this year’s show.

“We have it on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.”

While I have no reason not to trust The Guardian, I hope its staff and source will forgive me for not holding my breath. The Last Guardian has been a stitch shy of being abandoned for the last few years, and all that’s keeping hope afloat is that Sony refuses to let go. It has said time and time again that the game is still in the works, but time and time again, our patience has proven to be fruitless.

Trademarks have been lost… twice. Key staff members have retired. The Patriots have been to three Super Bowls since The Last Guardian was announced, and I was stressed about cramming in those final credits to graduate from college!

If The Guardian’s source is correct, Sony will have the most talked about trailer at the show. If it isn’t, well, what else is new? On to E3 2016!
