Universal went out on full assault this week in trying to build up hype for the release of the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The move worked because we were excited to checkout and trailer, and now after watching it, we’re excited for the movie.

The follow up to 2015’s Jurassic World takes place months later. Isla Nubar, the location of the world resort that was overrun by dinosaurs in the last movie, is now a decaying relic and a home to a lot of dinosaurs. Naturally, the titular heroes, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), are forced to return to the island for one reason: to save all of the dinosaurs for an impending volcano explosion.

In the first scene of the trailer, Dearing asks Grady to join her on the rescue op. She succeeds in convincing him, mostly because she dangles his velociraptor pal (Blue) as an emotional play, and Grady makes his return to Jurassic World.

The entire trailer is blast, especially when the volcano explodes while they are on the island. There’s even a killer tease of a T-Rex taking on a ceratosaurus.

Jurassic Park legend Jeff Goldblum also makes an appearance in the trailer.

You can check out the entire trailer down below, it’s a blast. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is in theaters June 22, 2018.
