Sometimes I wish other automakers would borrow a page from Tesla’s playbook. One driver recently discovered a new Easter egg hidden in the latest software update that adds just a bit of additional fun to the car.
As you’ll note in the video below, the feature changes the charging port color to a rainbow of colors, flickering rapidly in succession… almost as if they were meant to match the Mario Kart Rainbow Road Easter egg that was discovered last month. The Model S Easter egg is relatively easy to execute, it seems. Kevin Schreiber, who uploaded the video, shows that you just need to tap the button on the charging cord 10 times to activate the new rainbow LED mode, changing the color from the standard blue LED to a flashing rainbow.
Serves no purpose at all, but it’s a fun new Easter Egg for the Model X and Model S. Taste the rainbow.
