  • It features a good look at the new cast as well as returning characters.
  • Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1.

Some big news for Terminator: Dark Fate has dropped at Comic-Con this week. In addition to confirmation the film will be rated R, it was also revealed Edward Furlong will return as John Connor, although we still haven't gotten a good look at him in action.

To tide fans over until Terminator: Dark Fate releases on November 1, Paramount has posted a featurette that takes fans behind the scenes of the new film. And, yes, it features plenty of profanity and explosions.

Here's the film's official synopsis, which provides insight into what's actually happening:

27 years after the events of Terminator: Judgment Day, a new, modified liquid metal Terminator is sent from the future by Skynet in order to terminate Dani Ramos, a hybrid cyborg human, and her friends. Sarah Connor comes to their aid, as well as the original Terminator, for a fight for the future.

It's hard to be optimistic about a Terminator movie since the last few have been, well, not great. But so much great talent is involved in Dark Fate that it may finally be the proper follow up to Judgment Day fans have been waiting almost 30 years for.

Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1, 2019.
