If it wasn’t for the dialogue choices and standard Telltale adventure game timer along the bottom, I would have assumed this was another mainline Borderlands screenshot. That’s not the case, of course, as this, and the four in the gallery below, come from Telltale’s upcoming Tales from the Borderlands run.
Telltale announced last year at VGX that they’d be taking a crack at 2K’s popular loot ‘n level FPS RPG. Tales from the Borderlands is set to be a five episode journey into the now extremely popular fiction. In addition to the five shots you see in this post, Telltale revealed some information concerning what’s bound to go down in the upcoming games.
First of all, Tales from the Borderlands is premiering this summer. An exact release date was not indicated, of course. Expect that to get pinned down as we get closer.
The release also talked briefly about the two main perspectives in the game.
Featuring two playable characters, the story is told from two unique perspectives that will alternate as the story progresses. These characters include Rhys, a scheming, low-level data-miner within Hyperion who’s plotting his own grand ambitions; and Fiona, a clever and classic fast-talking con-artist born and raised on Pandora out to pull off the grift of a lifetime.
Sounds good to me. Are any diehard Borderlands and Telltale fans looking to pick this one up once it comes out? I like both the series and the makers, but I’m still not sure how the Borderlands universe will lend itself to tough decision making. We’ll have to wait and see if this departure will be glorious or lame. Stay tuned.
