Star Wars Clone Wars

The Walking Dead has done wonders for Telltale Games. A second season of the popular series has just been teased, returning to focus on the child heroine Clementine, and the company couldn't be any  more high profile. However, is the zombie project the only ace the booming adventure gaming company has up its sleeve?

Studio co-founders Dan Connors and Kevin Bruner have taken to a Q&A on Reddit to tease a few new "Dream IPs" they are thrilled to be working on. Although stopping shy of outright saying any titles, speculation and hints are leaning towards a popular franchise which rhymes with "Bar Tours."

When asked about whether he would like to work on a Star Wars game in the traditional Telltale vein, Connors replied:

Coming from LucasArts we have so many people here that love Star Wars and have worked with the license so that would be a great fit and very cool. In addition we will be working on a few licenses that definitely fall into our dream IP scenario and we can't wait to announce those.

Bruner also added, "A Telltale Star Wars game would make me VERY happy! We've got some IP coming up that pretty much checks all of my personal favourites, which absolutely amazes/honours me."

Telltale certainly has the critical success to its name to slap on a Star Wars game that Lucas and Disney could be proud of. Beyond The Walking Dead, its library also includes The Wolf Among Us, Back to the Future, Monkey Island, and Sam and Maxx.

Star Wars seems right up the team's alley. It's a universe ripe with great settings, characters, races, and culture, then when left in the hands of brilliant storytellers, like BioWare, it can even exceed its source material.

Pretty much the entire gaming community wants this dream game to happen, so do you think EA and Disney have acknowledged and let Telltale join the elite teams working on Star Wars titles these days? Would you play it? I sure would.

What's even more fascinating in the Q&A is that Bruner mentioned "some IPs," meaning more than one. Whether or not this Star Wars rumor pans out to be true, what else would you like to see Telltale make next?
