Bandai Namco has secured some weird guest characters over the years. The Soulcalibur series has played host to Spawn, Link from The Legend of Zelda, Kratos, KOS-MOS, Ezio from the good Assassin's Creed games, and even Yoda and Dath Vader! Tekken has been a bit more relaxed, generally turning to the likes of rival fighting games for guest fighters, like Akuma from the Street Fighter series.

Well, not anymore. In its latest batch of DLC characters for Tekken 7, Bandai Namco announced that AMC's The Walking Dead's bat swinging villain Negan will appear among them.

The character model is based on the television show's Negan, not the comic's. From the trailer:

"Your eyes do not deceive you, your pounding heart does not betray you; Negan from AMC's The Walking Dead is making his way into Tekken 7 to deal a world of pain in the Tekken universe. Negan, beloved by fans of The Walking Dead for his charismatic yet sinister demeanor, is ready to destroy all challengers, regardless of their stature in the Tekken universe."

Well then… traditionally, SouCalibur is the weapon-based fighting series, but Tekken's fighters have always relied on their fists, feet, and other bodyparts to inflict damage. That spiked bat seems somewhat like cheating against Heihachi and friends.

Tekken veterans Anna Williams and Lei Wulong were also confirmed to be in the DLC pack.
