Ahh, the joyous days of GoldenEye 007. Four players on a minuscule screen, everybody leaning in for a better look, DK Mode making headshots a cinch, and nobody being allowed to choose Oddjob because he's so small. Who can forget?!

I guess now split-screen multiplayer is officially on the way out with Halo 5: Guardians dropping the feature. And you know what happens when things go out of style! We need to see the teenagers of today react to it!

The most telling moment of this video is when one kid complains about "screen-looking." Back in the days of GoldenEye 007, there were no such complaints about the tactic, and it was regularly accepted at least among my friends. That style of whining didn't come around until the kids started playing Halo, and it suddenly because taboo since "Halo is a much more tactical game" or some such lame excuse.

Sorry bud, but that's the downside of split-screen. Don't make your position so obvious next time.

However, it's not the split-screen that ultimately does in these teens. It's GoldenEye 007's dated control scheme and the ridonkulous design of the Nintendo 64's controller. These youngin's were born into an age where control schemes between genres have become far more standardized, and three games simply isn't enough practice to jump backwards into GoldenEye 007 for the first time.

It's the kind of game where you had to be there.
