Interesting alarm clocks seem to be a dime a dozen these days – this one, however, takes the cake.

Talk O'Clock is an "social alarm clock" service that allows you to be woken up by a complete stranger. The wake-up-call style service has you pick a time to receive a call, and when that time comes someone you don't know will call you and wake you up "creatively." As the person being woken up you can choose to talk to a male, female, or robot come wake up time. Your appointed wake up person will also be connected to you anonymously, so you don't have to worry about them falling in love with your half-awake "Hello?" and calling again.

Currently Talk O'Clock has to be setup on your computer. The service also has plans to roll out a mobile app in the neat future to make setting up calling (and placing them) a little easier.

I'm a little on the fence with this one. My snooze button is my best friend, and I often have a pretty difficult time getting up most mornings. Having a stranger call me certainly would wake me up, and maybe even be enough of an early-morning adventure that I would look forward to getting out of bed every morning and having a conversation.

There's also, obviously, the creepy factor. Those doing the waking up can wake you up anyway they want … which is bound to head downhill pretty quickly. While you may get connected to some pretty awesome people some mornings and have awesome chats, you're also probably run into some people you'd rather not to on the service as well.

Talk O'Clock is currently in private beta. I've requested an invite code (and you can too) here to give the service a spin.

What do you think? Good idea? Or trainwreck waiting to happen?
