T-Mobile announced Monday that the LG Optimus L9 will launch on Oct. 31 for $79.99 with a new two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. The Optimus L9, not to be confused with its more powerful cousin, the Optimus G, runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and sports a 4.5-inch qHD display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera, a 2,150mAh battery and support for T-Mobile's HSPA+ network.

The Optimus L9 isn't a bad deal at $79.99, if you take advantage of the rebate, but I think most consumers will prefer the HTC One S for its sleeker industrial design and amazing display.
