T-Mobile USA will issue an iPhone update on April 5 that will enable full functionality of the device on its network, no matter where you purchased it. That means users with unlocked iPhones purchased elsewhere will receive full MMS support, optimizations for T-Mobile’s network, visual voicemail and more. The update will be issued over the air, according to a screen shot obtained by TmoNews and will be applied to devices already running iOS 6.1.x or newer.

T-Mobile will also offer its own iPhone 5 will full 4G LTE support for $99 with its new plans, so if you want access to T-Mobile’s faster network that’s going to be the better option. Still, if you’re currently on T-Mobile with your own iPhone, this update will enable plenty of new features.
