Whatever's happenings behind the scenes, there's no arguing DC Universe's Swamp Thing looks awesome. The first trailer just dropped, giving us an extended look at the horrors in the swamp.

The trailer provides a general overview of what audiences can expect from the show, which hits DC Universe on May 31.

Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-borne virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.

Swamp Thing has always seemed perfect for the horror genre, and the first trailer certainly seems like it'll have plenty of scares. It makes sense, considering James Wan of The Conjuring is involved.

Leading up to the trailer's release, it was reported that Swamp Thing's first season was cut down by three episodes. Let's hope the drama behind the scenes doesn't affect the quality of the show, because we really like what we see.
