I know that low cat chortle. Cat owners know what I mean, right? That half-purr, half-meow that typically means your beloved cat is about to eat dinner or step on your face while you're trying to sleep.

I'm a dog person, but please don't tell my evil pet cat named Zeus.

Mew-Genics is the upcoming game from Team Meat, the indie duo behind Super Meat Boy. This game, as we previously wrote about in other posts, features a practically infinite number of cats and a whole slew of crazy characters. We're still not sure what the title is about entirely, but Team Meat has taken to regularly updating their blog with bits and pieces of information concerning the project.

Their newest tease concerns the soundtrack behind the title. The devs have elected to dump some serious funds into the aural side of things. Here's the word from their official blog:

So we really splurged with the soundtrack for Mew-genics, the game will feature a full album of over 20 studio recorded songs, with more than half of them with lyrics! we really wanted to make the games music feature extended themes of the game or small stories within each song, kind of how Katamari did it in a way, except all our songs are about cats! [sic]

You had me at "Katamari."

We'll have more on Mew-Genics as it comes.
