There have been several rumors swirling around about the potential release date of Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Most recently, some rumors have pointed to spring of next year for the game’s big drop.
That’s right, like, three or four months from now. We don’t even have an official name for the title, and rumors have penned it’s launch in at only months away.
Masahiro Sakurai, the Director on the new Smash, took to Twitter to clear up some confusion.
It’s in the tweet above that Sakurai muses about a particular rumor suggesting that Super Smash Bros. will hit the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in the spring of 2014. He says that this is an incorrect report, or, misinformation. He then says that he thinks this rumor sprung up in Germany, but that there’s no truth to it.
The next tweet is Sakurai being Sakurai. He doesn’t know when the game will drop in 2014, but he’s trying desperately to make it happen soon.
Undoubtedly, whenever Super Smash Bros. hits the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in 2014 it will come absolutely brimming with content. Let’s not rush the studio, folks, we want these games to be amazing.
