I wasn’t too excited about the Nintendo 3DS version of Super Smash Bros, but a string of announcements and teases has convinced me to just go ahead and get both it and the Wii U build. The Nintendo 3DS is my main platform of choice anyway these days, so why not?
The only problem is that the October 3rd release date is just so far away. I mean, three weeks!? How can one manage?
Luckily, Nintendo has a demo coming out for the highly anticipated fighter. Be sure to check the Nintendo 3DS eShop on September 19th for your first chance to jump in! You’ll be able to play as Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager and Mega Man through six modes of gameplay in the Battlefield stage. The demo can only be played 30 times, so be sure to get your fill while it lasts.
If you managed to score Platinum Status on Club Nintendo last year, you’ll not only have access to four free “special” copies of the the demo with local multiplayer, but this version can also be opened an unlimited number of times! Check your email now and play as often as you like. If you only have the normal version of the demo, you’ll only be able to access local multiplayer only with a person who has the Platinum version.
Just remember this kind gesture the next time you want to complain about all the free video games Nintendo throws at you.
Super Smash Bros. will be released on October 3rd for the Nintendo 3DS. The Wii U version will be released later this holiday season.
