You could say that Nintendo's 3DS will be supported, largely, by two brand new titles this holiday season: Mario Kart 7, for which we just posted some fresh Raccoon Tail related screenshots earlier today, and Super Mario 3D Land.

Today, Nintendo unveiled their October trailer for this upcoming 3DS Mario adventure. You'll be able to catch a glimpse of some retro style levels, Tanooki Mario and a gameplay experience that appears to be a blend of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Bros. 3.

Gamers will be able to play a new blend of 2D and 3D Mario style levels. Expect to find some areas that are extremely direct and linear in design, as well as areas that more closely resemble the traditional Super Mario 64 open, objective-based layout.

Super Mario 3D Land is being developed by Nintendo's Nintendo EAD, the same division responsible for the recent, often acclaimed Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. If they can craft an experience for the 3DS on par with those Wii games, especially the sequel between the two, Nintendo fans will have a massive reason to get excited this holiday.

Super Mario 3D Land will launch for the Nintendo 3DS on November 18th. Will you be picking it up?
