Persona fans should keep their eyes peeled this week for incoming news regarding the popular RPG series. On May 2, Atlus will be holding an online streaming even called "Dark Hour TV ~Persona Hour" to hype the upcoming release of its film Persona 3 the Movie #2: Misummer Knight's Dream, and during this release, it will make a "super important announcement of a new project".
Atlus already has four games in the Persona series currently in the works. The main attraction of the bunch is the next main game in the series, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5, which is expected for release on the PlayStation 3 in Japan before the end of the year. It's set for early next year in the west.
Further new Persona games include Persona Q: Shadows of the Labyrinth, a Nintendo 3DS dungeon crawling mash-up of Persona 3 and Persona 4, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, a PS Vita rhythm game spin-off, and the next entry in the fighting game spin-off series, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.
With four games already to its name, what else could Atlus possibly have up its sleeve? Does it have yet another Persona game in the works, or is it just another film? Does it have a follow-up to its cult hits Catherine or Radiant Historia? Or will the team be putting out something original? We'll have to wait until May 2 to find out.
