nasa-curiosityExploring the globe with Google Earth is great, but when the heck are we going to be able to walk around the surface of other planets? Thanks to a series of photos taken by the Curiosity, Earthlings are now free to view the Red Planet through a 360 degree panoramic.

The muted Sepia tones of the images display a barren wasteland: Rocks and haze and dirt. Lots and lots of dirt. It's really quite stunning, and amazing to see the tracks of the Curiosity scrawled across the alien planet.

The sheer technological achievement alone of this mission is just incredible, and gives people across the globe an opportunity to see with their own eyes what it's like to stare out at the unknown horizon.
