Last night, Hollywood boulevard came to a standstill as Disney premiered Star Wars: The Force Awakens to the world. It was the first time the film was ever shown to the public, kicking off the first of many new Star Wars movies to come over the next few years; Rogue One comes out in 2016, and Episode VIII is set for an early 2017 release; Disney is also gearing up for Episode IX and a few other spin-off movies. So, yes, prepare yourself for much more Star Wars.

By all accounts, JJ Abrams knocked it out of the park with The Force Awakens, with many people saying how much of a throwback it is to the original trilogy. That’s good news, because many Star Wars fans were left devastated by how George Lucas handled he prequels, the most recent of which came out in 2005.

Plenty of spoiler-free mini-reviews have been shared via Twitter, and all of them are glowing. I guess you can expect that kind of response from rabid fans who got to attend the premiere. But it’s nice to hear that all the hype over the past few years culminated into a terrific movie. (It also means there are a lot of spoilers floating around the Internet today, so beware.) I already have my tickets to see the movie on Saturday, and I’m hopeful I won’t run into any spoilers before then.

If you didn’t get a chance to watch the live stream of last night’s premiere, above is a gallery of photos from the red carpet. You have John Boyega, Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, and the rest of the Star Wars cast. Are you seeing Star Wars this weekend?
