If it’s possible for you to get tired of Star Wars, you’re probably tired of it right about now. The rest of us, though, are having a blast. That Star Wars Battlefront II trailer that leaked last week is now official, and we have some proper information about the game to go with it.

The a single-player campaign the Dark Side leads to

Electronic Arts and developer DICE had confirmed that the game would come with a single-player campaign, but we’d been otherwise left to wonder what the sequel might have in store for us. Rather than putting us in the shoes of one of the series’ epic-tier heroes, as might be tempting for a developer, the game is keeping with tradition and keeping us down in the metaphorical trenches.

We’ll be playing as an Imperial special ops soldier named Iden Versio, a member of the elite Inferno Squad. The game starts up right after Return of the Jedi, and Iden is witness to the destruction of the second Death Star. EA says the story is canonical to the Star Wars universe, though it’s worth noting that the Force Unleashed games were considered canonical at one point, too, so take that for what it’s worth.

“This calamitous event propels you and your elite team… into an odyssey of revenge, betrayal, and redemption,” according to EA Community Manager Jared Petty’s post to the PlayStation Blog. It sounds like the campaign takes place over a long period, rather than a hard break-neck adventure, as Petty says the campaign spans the 30-year gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Star Wars Battlefront II will see worldwide release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 17, but you can access it early on all three platforms a couple different ways. If you pre-order the Star Wars Battlefront II: Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition, you can access the game 3 days early, starting November 14. If you have EA Access or Origin Access, on Xbox One and PC respectively, you’ll get access to the Play first trial on November 9, giving you 10 hours of play time that will, if you purchase the game, carry over into your retail save.
