The Star Fox franchise is getting some more love in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Director Masahiro Sakurai took to his usual Miiverse space in order to show off the Great Fox from Star Fox: Assault, a new stage for the game.
Here’s the Miiverse post dropped by Sakurai.
You know, I never really considered the pilot’s feelings whilst duking it out on the roof of the Star Fox Stage. It just didn’t even occur to me that some poor shmuck was stuck flying the ship while Nintendo’s all stars did silly stuff on the exterior.
I don’t even know what to think now. Though, I am jazzed to see this stage return, assuming it plays and looks like Sector Z. It’s easily one of my favorites.
Now, since the Wii U and 3DS versions of Smash will feature some unique stages, we assume this one will only show up on the Wii U. Don’t be surprised if we’re wrong, though. We hope we’re wrong.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is set for this holiday. The 3DS version of the game will drop on Oct. 3, 2014. Stay tuned for more.
