Sprint may be preparing to launch a version of the Optimus G 2, or perhaps an entirely different Optimus device, with a Qualcomm Snadpragon 800 processor. AndroidPolice recently dug through Sprint's website and noticed that there's a small file that mentions an MSM8974 chipset, used in the Snapdragon 800 processor, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. A 5.5-inch 1080p display is also very likely in tow.

The device is only referred to as the LS980, so we can't make any conclusions on a possible launch name or if it is indeed the Optimus G 2. Still, Sprint launched the Optimus G (pictured above) and then sat on the sidelines for the Optimus G Pro, which AT&T offers, so it's very possible that the company wants a powerful successor to the Optimus G.

The device also appears to have surfaced with approval from the Bluetooth SIG. For a closer look at the Optimus G 2, check out a recent leak that we ran on Monday.
