It sounds like Nintendo is finally winding their official support for Splatoon down for good; not counting keeping the servers up, of course. The company has unveiled the final Splatfest for the title.

These Splatfests task players with picking a side between two opposing things. Cats or Dogs, Autobots or Decepticons, you get the idea. These players then duke it out for supremacy on the ink-soaked battlefield.

The final Splatfest is a somber one. The two divas of Inkopolis, Callie and Marie, have been set up against one another. Which will you choose to fight for (if you’re even playing the game anymore)? Nintendo has the details on the game’s official Tumblr.

The showdown begins at 2 AM PT on Friday, July 22, until 2 AM PT on Sunday, July 24. This will be the last Splatfest extravaganza, and we’d like everyone to have a blast!

Splatoon stands as an incredible Wii U exclusive, and I’ll always think of it as one of the best of the generation. I will completely admit, though, that I haven’t played it in a long, long time. Maybe it’s time to pick a side and fire it up.
