What you need to know

  • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix June 26.
  • The film features Miles Morales and a host of other web slingers.

Netflix on Tuesday announced Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be available to stream beginning June 26.

Since its release last December, Into the Spider-Verse has earned widespread praise from critics and fans, particularly for the animation, which combined computer animation and hand-drawn comic book techniques. It eventually won a Best Animated Feature Oscar.

The film features Miles Morales, who is bitten by a radioactive spider—you know the rest. What makes Into the Spider-Verse's story unique is how it incorporates the multiverse, bringing together several versions of the web slinger, including Spider-Woman, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Ham.

There's also a fun post-credits scene that features a surprise cameo—plus it pays homage to one of Spider-Man's most popular memes.
