After you pick up the Spider-Man figure from Spider-Man: Homecoming, add to your collection with Hot Toys’ new Iron Man figure, which looks astonishingly life-like.
As you well know, Robert Downey Jr.’s character is set to appear in the upcoming film as a mentor figure to Peter Parker, providing him with a high-tech suit and generally making sure he stays out of trouble. As the saying goes, With great power comes greater responsibility.
We already knew Tony’s Iron Man suit would look different from his most recent appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Now up to Mark XLVII, the armor features more silver accents throughout the legs and torso. Although the lack of a color scheme makes the armor look a little unfinished, I dig it.
Here are some details about the figure, which features 28 LED light-up points throughout the body.
An array of components are added to the figure including: a newly painted Tony Stark head sculpt featuring likeness of Robert Downey Jr., an interchangeable LED light-up helmeted head, an interchangeable empty helmet emulating the suit in remote control mode, interchangeable armor parts and a specially designed figure stand.
Furthermore, a mini-repulsors deployer with two articulated mini-repulsors and thrust effect parts are specially included for this new Iron Man armor!
I didn’t catch a price, but Hot Toys collectibles are never cheap. The Spider-Man figures, for example, range from $230 to $250. If you’re an avid collector, that’s a pretty high price to pay for fandom. Then again, the Iron Man figure looks fantastic, so it’s easy to see why it costs so much.
The Iron Man Mark XLVII is set to be available early next year, while Spider-Man: Homecoming is swinging into theaters on July 7.
