There have been rumors and even hints from the actors that they’d survive the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Now, a new report claims that both Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) are indeed going to return when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters next year.

The news comes from Vulture, which reports that both actors will team up with Spidey when he travels to Europe. Their roles in the film haven’t been revealed, but it poses some juicy possibilities. Fury’s role in Spider-Man: Far From Home also means we’ll get to see him interact with Tom Holland’s Spidey for the first time.

Both Fury and Hill perished in the post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War. Hearing that they’ll appear in a future film—which, mind you, takes places after Avengers 4—all but confirms that whatever Thanos did to them will be undone. We also suspect many others who perished will also be back.

Fury has already been confirmed to appear in Captain Marvel’s solo movie, which also hits theaters next year. Because that film takes place in the ‘90s, Jackson’s Fury is going to be digitally de-aged and without his trademark eyepatch.

Neither Fury or Hill featured all that much in Phase 3 of the MCU, but it looks like their roles have been upgraded for Phase 4 (Spider-Man: Far From Home kicks off Phase 4), which makes sense. They helped kick off the MCU when it started with Iron Man. Now, they’re going to help usher in a new wave of possibilities.
