South Park: The Fractured but Whole still needs more time before it is ready to come out. Ubisoft has confirmed the game suffered another setback in its development, and the game has been delayed yet again into the publisher’s next fiscal year.

Ubisoft’s year runs from April 2017 to March 2018.

A history of delays for South Park

South Park: The Fractured but Whole was originally scheduled for a Dec. 6 release after Ubisoft announced the date at E3 2016 last year. Several months later, it was delayed in the first quarter of 2017.

That release window is quickly closing, and the game is nowhere in sight and has no solid release date. Ubisoft had no choice but to push it into a much larger window.

South Park: The Stick of Truth also suffered multiple delays, as well as a publisher change, over the course of its development. The funny part is that episodes of the television show take only a week to write and animated before going on the air.

Are South Park games really that hard to make, or are there perfectionist tendencies behind the curtains at work here?

South Park: The Fractured but Whole will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
