Queasy Studio's Sound Shapes turned a lot of heads at E3 this year as one of the more surprisingly fun games available. Now, the 2D rhythm platformer can be purchased on PSN for $14.99, or $11.99 for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

The new launch trailer shows enough of the game to get its point across, but if it still a little confusing, the official blog offers a simple explanation.

"So: Sound Shapes is a 2D musical platformer in which every level is a song. You pick up the notes placed in the level to construct the music, but at the same time the creatures (friend or foe) and interactive objects are instruments too."

Completing a level requires picking up notes to the song, so it can be listened into its entirety. Popular music artists include Deadmau5, Jim Guthrie and a few others. A level editor and music composer are also included in the package, so sharing creations with friends will be very simple.

The downloadable game is one of the first examples of PlayStation's cross-compatible games where it can be played on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
