Droid Razr Maxx (Heading)The pecking order has reportedly been shaken up at Verizon, with the iPhone 4S losing top spot as the carrier's most popular smartphone. According to analyst Anil Doradla, Verizon's aggressive LTE marketing has made Motorola's Droid RAZR MAXX the carrier's best-selling smartphone of Q2.

Based on Doradla's "checks," the iPhone is overall still the most popular device among North American carriers, though there are "initial signs of Apple's momentum under pressure," which largely has to do with the growing popularity of LTE devices. The RAZR MAXX is at the moment one of Verizon's better LTE options thanks to its massive 3300 mAh battery, which promises all day usage.

Will the RAZR MAXX (or even the iPhone 4S) be able to withstand the challenge of the Galaxy S III? Perhaps the rumored RAZR HD will have something to say about that.
