Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z (or Yuga), the company’s entry into the 5-inch smartphone space, will reportedly sport a “skeleton frame structure” and HDR video recording capabilities. Will these be the kind of features that get Sony into the same race as Samsung and Apple?

According to ePrice, who acquired a handful of Xperia Z renders, the handset will feature a number of press buzz words aimed at stoking a media frenzy. Stuff such as: Full HD Reality display, Skeleton frame, and the like. The device will also reportedly come equipped with a water resistant chassis and OptiContrast panel.

We’ve already seen a host of information regarding the Xperia Z, along with the Xperia ZL, so all that’s left is Sony to come out and announce the devices. We’re heading into the home stretch for CES 2013, so keep it here to see what Sony has in store for the show.
