Sony is expected to reveal its next flagship phone sometime this year, but a new report suggests it could come way earlier than expected. According to German blog WinFuture a new fleet of Xperia phones are set to launch ahead of the IFA expo, which takes place in Berlin each year at the start of September.

The report lists two new phones with codenames Xperia S60 and Xperia S70. The cheaper S60 will allegedly cost around €699, while the more expensive S70 may be priced as high as €840 for a 32GB model. Based on the rumored launch date, we're assuming both handsets will pack Qualcomm's current Snapdragon 810 chip, though the specific hardware is still a mystery.

XperiaBlog also chimes in to confirm the rumored devices. It notes that two more phones, codenamed Xperia S50 and Xperia S70+ are also in the works, suggesting Sony could be gearing up to launch a whole new family. The site also claims that the design won't change much from what we saw with the Xperia Z3 and Z4 series (pictured above).

Sony probably won't switch up its design significantly until next year, but in the meantime it looks like the company has plenty of devices coming soon. We'll keep an eye out for any more news, though for now this is still just another rumor.
