We have smartwatches and activity trackers, and there’s also this strange cross-breed where the two are one in the same. If you aren’t comfortable wearing a bulky smartwatch on your wrist, why not go for something like the SmartBand Talk? Now you can make and receive calls right from your wrist without looking like you’re wearing an awkward science experiment.
Sony’s SmartBand Talk is different from the usual crop of activity trackers because it sports a 1.4-inch curved e-paper display. Not only does that mean it’s low power, but it also means you’ll be able to see the information the device is displaying in bright sunlight. Handy for when you’re on a run, or maybe just outside enjoying the nice day.
The SmartBand Talk is IP68 dustproof, supports Bluetooth 4, comes with a 70mAh battery and has 2MB imbedded internal flash. Sure, it doesn’t sound like the most cutting edge gadget out there, but it doesn’t have to be to track your stats. You’ll be able to pick up the SmartBand Talk later this fall for about $200 (according to Sony’s release).
