Sony Computer Entertainment of America has gone and trademarked an odd title for the U.S. The name of the "video game software" is Gnomageddon.

SCEA filed the trademark on July 15, 2015. That filing included a very, very bare bones description of what Sony has in mind.

This is "Computer game software; video game software." And its list of goods and services only offers "Operating a real-time game for others over global and local area computer networks."

That's all we know. Well, that and it's amazingly suggestive name. I'm no fan of gnomes, but the potential of a multiplayer game with a post-apocalyptic garden gnome theme? Yep, I'm all aboard that silliness train.

We'll have more on Gnomageddon and whatever it entails as it comes.
